Yes the question you should ask yourself is, "What value can you inject into the article?". You bring up a good point that I didn't really touch on which is sometimes it takes multiple reads before it "clicks", thanks for the thought.

		<description>These are good points Guin and I think as long as you're bringing something new to the topic, or approaching it from a different angle, it's fine.

Also, writing on topics you've covered previously is fine too.  

People often need to read something several times before it clicks with them.  And I've noticed that the best "how to" books tend to repeat the same concepts over and over.
