Thanks Nick. I agree, trust can definitely be considered one of the most important aspects in establishing credit, especially online more so than "offline" because of the inherent nature of the beast. If you say you will do "this" or write "that"...you better put your money where your mouth is and follow through, because on the internet, there isn't a whole lot of ways to make people trust you.

I especially like the point about keeping promises. So often you read a blog and you find it quite good, however it promises a followup that never materialises. Maybe a post has been started that didn't take off as well as expected. If 2 people subscribe to your feed and expect the update, and you never give it; you loose their trust. Trust is probably the most important thing in establishing credibility.

Nick's last blog post..What Do You Want From Social Media?

Yes, some bloggers who actually do post their earnings tend to let their quality slide as well since they have "authority". Clever tactic...but yes, it's a shame.

Hi Guin - these are great points. I especially like the one about blogs not needing to prove what they earn from blogging just to sound as though they know what they're talking about. My blog is about business but I'd never put my earnings on there.

I notice that some bloggers who actually do that often let their quality slide. They seem to know they can get away with saying anything once they have a huge following and that's a shame.

CatherineL's last blog post..Business: Do You Think You Know It All?
